R1, G2: sens @ Maple Leafs - Apr. 22nd, 7:30pm - SN, TSN 1050

Bottom line is now the mission is to not lose 4 games in a series and win 16. Doesn't matter how you win if at the end of the day your team is the happy one.

I'm not sure what happens to this team when they have the lead. Are they adhering to Berube's system, like, is that the actual plan? Or are they afraid of giving up the lead and defaulting into tortoise mode? Because they absolutely dominated Ottawa 1st period (the PP were they only actual chances OTT had) and then just stopped skating and shooting and trying. Line 1 kept dumping the puck in and not being remotely close to retrieving it...over...and over again. I can't see this style working in the long run..but....great win I guess!! :D

The style is fine, but it does require some committed effort. Up 2-0 and everyone (except the Laughton line) starts easing off the gas as Ottawa starts to skate with more urgency.

Last year against Boston:
Kampf (1), Domi (1), Tavares (1), Matthews (1), Knies (2), Bertuzzi (1), Marner (1), McCabe (1), Nylander (3)

This year:
Rielly (2), Tavares (2), Domi (1), OEL (1), Nylander (1), Knies (1), Marner (1)

7 different goal scorers through 2 games and they have had contributions from players on all four lines

Where my Domi haters be at??? 😂😂😂
Right here.
I appreciate the goal - very much: BIG goal!!
I don't hate him.
For a guy whose forte is supposedly passing the puck, he can be downright, repeatedly bad at it. He has been in these first two games. Watching him, he made me wonder what his hockey IQ or hockey sense was. It is like he's regressed. He has the physical tools but something is amiss between his ears. They need to get him to a bottom six wing

He throws so many blind or hope passes around, every so often one of them connects and he looks great. But the rest of the time...not so much.

They make a lot of bad plays.
Until I just now looked at the replay again I didn't realize it was a 2 on 4.

With 2 and 11, not 16 and 34.

Well, as the folks at MLHS are fond of repeating, this is why winning the division is important. Sub in either FL team and this series is tied 1-1.

It's the Leafs, they've been this way for 8 years, why do you think we haven't made it past the second round? At least now we have better D and goalies to compensate for it , how far will that take us? Worked pretty good for the Panthers. Lol
