    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

Running or ruining? Either way, same answer. ;)

    2025 Blue Jays

I should say, the Vladdy from the last 2-3 games is the Vladdy we need to see much more consistently. Made a fantastic diving stop yesterday, drove the ball very hard (in the air!) RBI's, walks, very dangerous! He smoked a fastball the preceding game way out of the park, which is what he...

    2025 Blue Jays

4.1 innings, over 50 pitches, velocity at 94 MPH last rehab start for Scherzer. All nice to see but like you said, just waiting for the inevitable shutdown.

    2025 Blue Jays

Guerrero still very, very average. What a frustrating player this guy is.

SCF: Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers

I just don't know how to process these playoff "rules"..... Disgusting to watch; such an embarrassing league this NHL as become..

    2025 Offseason Thread: Spring Cleaning

As Herman also mentioned, we're talking about 1st and 2nd round matchups almost exclusively against Boston, Tampa and Florida. Every single one of those series, except one, went a full 7 games. I definitely think there needs to be a change and that Marner leaving might be a blessing in disguise...

Playoffs Round 2: Panthers vs. Maple Leafs

With the benefit of hindsight, sure, but he was a 3rd round pick, big-bodied forward who had scored decently in his first 80 or so AHL games (20 goals, 40 points as a 19-20 year old) and was, what, 21 years old at the time of the trade? Maybe he was an average prospect instead of above average...

Playoffs Round 2: Panthers vs. Maple Leafs

Huberdeau, Weegar, 1st rounder and an above average prospect for Tkachuk, who basically would only go to 1 destination, is an absolute haul of a trade, considering all of those cicrumstances. And if I recall correctly, many pundits loved that offseason for Calgary and predicted them to go far...

    2025 Blue Jays

And, as I should have expected, he just hit a huge bomb.. ! :censored:

    2025 Blue Jays

The problem is, for someone who can only play the least important position (and not particularly well, either), can't run and who has an awful baseball IQ, that contract can only look great if he is basically the best hitter in the entire game year after year. But like you said, I'm sure...

    2025 Blue Jays

So the guy that many people demanded the Jays re-sign at all costs currently sits at a .794 OPS with 6HR and 1.1 WAR in just under 200 at bats. Funny enough, that is kind of in line with his efforts every year, except for that 1 covid season in Buffalo's AAA ballpark, and the amazing 3 months...

    2025 Offseason Thread: Spring Cleaning

I found this pretty puzzling too. I can maybe accept the argument that Robertson made a few major mistakes resulting in Pacioretty coming in for him for a game. I also feel that Pacioretty established himself as a mainstay in the lineup thus forward. But how can Robertson not be given another...

ECF: Florida Panthers vs. Carolina Hurricanes

I also have to marvel at Florida's unbelievable ability to barely take any penalties, despite leading the entire NHL in penalties this regular season; whilst still being total and utter dirtbag, cheapshot artists to boot! Bravo!

So, uh, this Panthers team is kinda good

    Armchair GM Thread 2025/26

The "first" was partly in jest but I was just curious as to what the consensus would be. If SJ really works as a prime destination and the Marner camp wants to maximize the overall contract dollars, the rights for the #1 free agent in a weak year might creep up in value...(although I doubt...
