I love the talking heads on the radio. I don’t know who was on at noon on the fan hockey show but they were basically saying how frustrated Ottawa should be because they could ‘easily’ be up 2-1 and have “dominated” 5-5 play. They also threw in that ‘Ottawa isn’t out of this yet’. Ok there...

That’s ok though because they dominated in shot attempts and perceived 5-5 play, and as we all know, that’s what truly matters.

Not a duo this good. Maybe Potvin/Rhodes. Potvin/Puppa was very impressive too but that didn’t last too long. For me the best goalie I’ve ever seen play for the leafs was Belfour. But his backups were terrible.

Reliable/stable goaltending also has a big impact on how the team plays. You could tell how deflated they were with samsonov’s horrific season. They had to outscore a lot of their problems.

How does a league put together a schedule where some teams finish their season almost a week before everyone else?
