Agreed entirely. How many times does Rielly play too deep in the offensive end and is the direct cause of a 2 on 1 or a breakaway. And nothing seems to be done about it. And when does he beat anyone one on one any time he rushes? But does any reporter discuss this (aside from Bourne)?

Robertson is one of the best players for the Leafs. I hope he plays regularly in all the games going forward.

Agreed entirely. What is the downside in using OEL on the power play? He has a shot. He makes quick decisions with the puck. And he doesn’t telegraph every pass. And the opposing players don’t over commit with Morgan because he hasn’t been a threat with a point shot from the blue line...

There is certainly a valid argument that the core should be broken up. It may be something as simple that the Leafs don’t offer a contract to Marner and lowball Tavares to a very friendly team contract. If he doesn’t agree just let him walk. Valiquette on Kyler/Bourne was really insightful...

Jones just went through Rielly like he was a JrB defenceman. Where is the physicality of this defencemen when you need it?

Another minus for Rielly. He fell down at the blue line and was slow getting back. And JT gave the puck away after that bank pass. Both guys have been very mediocre in their own end most of the year…

What a boneheaded play by Rielly. What was he thinking on that pinch? He isn’t a good enough offensive player now to be that careless leaving the zone.

Woll seemed to play the puck earlier. If he can do it more next period it should help the defence. It seems that only Tanev is able to beat the relentless forecheck. And the long passes up the boards are not working.

Willy has the talent to break through the tenacious defence of Florida. Great last shift.

What a great game. The composure by the Leafs was truly impressive. And the defence limited their mistakes as in previous games by minimizing bad reads or losing puck battles or not covering the front. And it’s great to see bounce back games from Woll and Matthews and even Patches.

Rielly was perhaps overmatched in the Leafs end once again…

Agreed. His penalties have been idiotic. His hockey IQ is questionable to say the least. He is lost in his end. He is not helping…

They are still in this game unbelievably. One break is all they need. Possibly the next shot directed at the Panther defenceman for a deflection?
