I don't think it is his skating. He was in the top 1% in skating speed last season. He's top 7% this season. Maybe he's overthinking after the trouble they have had, or making poor reads or hesitant due to system changes, etc. EDIT: maybe he's a little injured

They've played 13 home games -probably more than any team in the league. 4 of the next 6 are on the road. Their road record is 1W-5L I think their schedule gets tougher with opponents.

It could get worse for at least a period of time. The shooting % isn't likely to last. But beyond that, they're awful defensively. As they try to tighten up defensively, it is likely to suck the air out of their offense for at least a while.
