Game Notes
NJ
-Jacob Markstrom (21-8-4, 2.15 GAA, .913 Sv%) will likely start for the Devils
TOR
-Joseph Woll (14-8-0, 2.65 GAA, .908 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
-Leafs are expected to have Jake McCabe back in the line-up after missing the past 4 games
-John Tavares' status is up in the air after he left practice yesterday with a suspected leg injury

JT being out for a while was pretty easy to call after seeing that video. On a positive note, it should give him some rest. I guess they'll run Domi at 2C?

He had 1G 3A in his last 7 games but is a -4 and only has 1 even strength goal in his last 10 games. Losing Tavares for a few weeks is definitely not a good thing, and depending on whether this is a groin or hip injury, it also means he's not skating for a while so his conditioning is going to take a while to recovery.

Our center depth is getting tested this year.

Minten isn't really coming off the best stretch of hockey either. 1G 3A -8 in his last 6 games.

Just as a complete aside, +/- has been such a weird stat for me. Gretzky, for example had 130 points 1 season and was -25 there are other examples but I’m too lazy to search now. But anyway just a total random aside.

The dreaded week to week timeline.
If it's anything like what "day-to-day" means to the Leafs we should get him back sometime before 2025 ends.

But actually I would guess that means anywhere from 2-4 weeks. The four nations break is about 3.5 weeks away. I doubt we see him before then, and if that's the case he'd miss 10 games. First game back from that break is about 5.5 weeks from now.

I have a feeling tonight is going to be a fun game..... Keefe's team will be up to win for their new coach and the Leafs are under some pressure by fans and one of the Core5 going down. Pumped!
