Wow, less than I expected... and they actually published the terms. Lou on vacation?

or
semi-desperate trade for Andersen + Enroth?
Nik the Trik said:You guys ready for a scorching hot take? Because of a combination of poor performance and potential injury, Enroth starts more games than Andersen this year.

FTFY.
Also, I don't see why they'd be desperate next summer.

herman said:Theoretical desperation due to a messier goaltender availability pool (Bishop, Fleury)? Honestly, I would've preferred the first option of riding out Bernier's contract, but I don't hate the path they ended up taking.

Why do you view the Andersen deal as semi-desperate?
It just seemed pro-active to me. They saw a goalie they rated highly and made a move to get him while he was available. If the cost to acquire was too high, I could see it being called desperate but the 30th overall and a mid 2nd rounder seems like a reasonable price.

Eh, and I'm disappointed to say that this is looking less and less likely to be the plan.

I'm still not convinced that's true. I have a hard time looking at the moves the team made this summer or the roster overall and believing the team is going to produce better results in any meaningful way. They'll be more talented, but they'll also be much less experience and more prone to mistakes, inconsistency, etc. I still see a team that's quite likely to finish in the bottom 5.
