Favourite Leaf game ever

I was watching some old clips on youtube and found a couple that I can't decide between for my favourite leaf game ever. Both from the 2002 series against Ottawa:

Game 2:

Game 6:

Does anyone else have a favourite game they can think of?

Good topic. Wow, this is a toughie.

I'd have to go back to '92-'93 -- many long lasting moments there. The Game 7 which Borchevsky scored in OT is the first one that pops to mind. I still remember where I was, how we reacted, and the sheer excitement that provided.

Another one is Dec. 30, 1989, when the Leafs came all the way back from 6-1 to beat the Bruins 7-6 in OT with Clark winning it. Remember that game as if it were yesterday.

Man, this makes me miss the good ol' days and Maple Leaf Gardens.

To pick one is tough. Already mentioned were classic tilts, especially the little Russian that could, I'll go with game one against St. Louis from 1993. Not saying it's my absolute favourite but it's right up there.

A clip of the second overtime...

Yeah. The game 7 OT triumph over the Red Wings was it for me. It was one of those games where I know exactly where I was and who I was watching it with.

way too tough. I was actually at that Leafs 7-6 win with the CLark OT goal that was referenced...

The Sittler 10 point game was a beauty because being from Boston I didn't get to see too many leaf games then. But since it was against Boston I got to enjoy that one.

Lanny's OT against the Isles back in 70's.

The Borchevsky game
The Mike Foligno OT against the Kings
But I also enjoyed game 7 when we just simply blew the Blues out in the run of 92/93

Inge Hammerstrom scoring the sudden death goal against Boston in the Playoffs back in 78?  I was there when that happened and you would have thought the roof was going to fly off the Gardens?best moment at a Leafs game.

From an entertainment perspective it was the boo hoo game over the sens.

But game 7 against detroit is still my most euphoric moment as a leafs fan.

Mats 500th goal game.  I worked late and had the game recorded.  Both my wife and son watched the game live and didn't say anything. Just as the goal went in they both came in my office to see my reaction.

I was at that game six. Definitely the most fun I've had at a game as a hockey fan. For me, there best time to be a Leafs' fan was during that run of series against Ottawa when we couldn't lose. There was nothing like that atmosphere. With Quinn, you just expected to win every playoff game.

Edit: As far as my favourite call ever, it's definitely this:

TORONTO, Jan. 8 1986? Miroslav Frycer scored four goals and Russ Courtnall and Steve Thomas each had two tonight as the Toronto Maple Leafs outscored the Edmonton Oilers, 11-9.  Brad Smith, Wendel Clark and Dan Hodgson also scored
Tim Bernhardt played the entire game in the Toronto goal.

A 4 -0 playoff games against ST Louis in late 80's or early 90's. Brad Smith scored the winning goal on a breakaway.

Leafs/Wings Game 7 in 1993, for sure.

I also really enjoyed the Leafs/Habs game from a few years back when the Leafs knocked them out of the playoffs. I forget what happened the next day.

Me too.  I would add that Ron M. interviewing Borchevsky after the game was nearly as good.  :P

Sittler's 10 point game February 7 1976, the first game I was allowed to stay up and watch all of!

Gilmour's double overtime goal circling behind the net and scoring on Cujo in 1993.....

Lot's of games with Favell, Palmateer and Wendel...

Good choices so far...Definitely Detroit Game 7OT - definitely remember where I was for that.

My favourite game that I went to...

Mid-March 1996 - Wendel's first game back with the Leafs against Dallas at MLG.  Sundin/Gilmour/Clark all on the same team for the first time.  It was a shutout and Clark scored a goal and an assist in that game.

I vividly remember walking from MLG to the College TTC subway station, and the entire crowd walking to the station was pumped.

Someone would yell out  "Who scored the first goal!!!"  the entire crowd travelling to the station would reply "Wen-del".

"Who was the first star"...."Wen-del!!!!"

"Who's gonna win the Conn Smyth this year?"...."Wen-del".

This went on for the entire walk to the Station...Wow...remember like it was yesterday.

2 games stick out in my memory....

Jan 2 1971 - destroyed the Red Wings 13-0. For some reason I remember watching the game on TV as a 6 year old

March 13 1971. My first Leafs game ever attended. We lost to Philly 3-2 and sat behind the net in front of Ballard's bunker

Mine is a Leafs loss, probably. In fact I'm claiming two games. The first time I was in Toronto I'd never watched an NHL game and barely knew what it was. The Leafs happened to be playing the Canes. When Sundin scored with the goalie pulled that was me hooked.

My other was probably Leafs v Sens in the ACC, March 2004. Game finished 2-2 and was my first ever live game (and 1 of only 3 I've ever been to).

I was a huge Belfour fan, and also delighted to see Belfast born Owen Nolan playing live.
