?Rittich (18-11-5, 2.79 GAA, .913 Sv%) will likely start for the Flames

TOR
?Andersen (22-8-5, 2.86 GAA, .910 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs

The excellent game notes which I read just made me realize Andersen's save % has gone all the way down to .910% wow

.895 in 16 games since December 1st. I'm sure he'll settle back into his usual .917-.919 area by the end of the season, but he is and probably always will be a streaky goalie.

Yeah. Seems to be his pattern. Has a couple months/stretches where he's ~.900, and a couple stretches where he's .920+, and, settles in at the range you identified above.

Let's hope you're right because for him to get back to .918 overall on the season he'll have to put up some sparkling numbers in the remaining 30 or so starts he'll make. That bodes well for the team if he gets hot soon.

Keep your heads up tonight, I suppose.

I heard they are going to disguise Kassian as Trevor Moore and then KA-BOOM just when Ka-Chuck least expects it.

This year has been interesting.  He has one really good month and a lot of kind of mediocre to bad ones.

October - 10 starts 3.03 GAA .905 SV%
November - 11 starts 1.97 GAA .938 SV%
December - 11 starts 3.03 GAA .904 SV%
January - 5 starts 4.54 GAA .875 SV%\

That obviously doesn't account for quality of shots but its going to be tough winning games consistently if our starter can't keep his SV% above .910

It was noted by Dave Feschuk that since keefe took over, the high quality danger chances have gone up quite a bit since the babs era. Anyway, only stat that matters to me...22-8-5..Don't care if they win 8-5, as long as they win.

I looked a little closer at the splits.

That awful Tampa game in October brought his sv% in that month from .916 to .901

Prior to his recent slump (.881 since the Dec 17th game), his YTD SV% was .921  and .926 excluding the Tampa game.

October: .901 (.916 excluding the Tampa game)
November: .938
December, prior to the slump: .919
December after slump and Jan: .881

It looks more like he's been pretty good up until Dec 17th, where he's struggled since then.

Ya since they started Hutch needlessly, Anderson has only been a shell of his former self. I say, let him play every game from now on.  ;)

Or at least until he asks for a day off. ;)
Never, he is Danish.  So was Hamlet! No days off and no soup for you.

Yeah, and he's looked like Hamlet in the pipes the past few games.

"To save or not to save, that is the question."
