Starting to look like Zaitzev will not be part of the equation for this series at least. To bad, even though I thought Polak and Hunwick did very well in game 1

My heart wants to see another game like Thurs, but my head says Wash is over it's 1st game jitters and wins this pretty handily.

That said, this team has proven me wrong all season.

Seems that way, the way he got up after getting his bell rung it looks a decent concussion. Definitely don't want to rush him back into playoff fire. Especially on the cusp of making a seven year investment.

Go Leafs Go.

I feel good about tonight's game.  The team showed they can keep up with the Capitals.  They shut down the threats, and ultimately got beat by their depth.  If they can shut down the scorers again, I think they can take game 2.

I predict that sometime before the night is over Kapanen and Hyman switch lines. Babcocks primal need to win will kick in.

He's not sending his high-skill guys into the corners chasing pucks, so I think if Kapanen wants a long look on one of the big lines, he better learn how to dig pucks out and get physical with the opposing defensemen.

I don't really have a problem with this...the Hymans of the league have a shorter lifespan, and we've even seen Komarov back off from his crash and bang days of previous seasons due to injury.

I remember the leafs got spanked 6-2 in games 1 and 2 in 93. Turned out ok for the leafs in the en

So... it could be fine I suppose.

Agree.  If I recall correctly Kap did get a few shifts with the big boys last game.  I trust Babs will make the right call here.

True, but only 4 points separated the Leafs and Red Wings that year.  Not 23.
