I'll be watching to see Granberg, that's about it. Kadri/JVR/Gardiner are on my fantasy team so I'll root for them too.

Hopefully Franson and other trade chips up their value, but we lose 5-3 or 5-4.

The best thing for this team would be for a terrible 2nd half. I'll celebrate every loss as they have no realistic shot at the playoffs.

Feels like the Leafs are victims of the Rogers deal with them occupying 12 Wednesday night hockey time slots.  I don't recall the Leafs ever having that many Wednesday games in recent memory when the NHL shifted to loading up games on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the week.

Man the Devils remind me of a geriatric Bad News Bears;  Havlet, Elias, Gomez, Jagr,Ryder.  Pass the Geritol (and the Valium)

I will watch no doubt but the fire to win at all costs right now has been ripped from me.. also if the phone rigns during the game now I may actually answer. I usually let it go when Leafs are on

Yah, this Weds nite hockey is garbage.  Tues - Thurs - Sat each and every week.

It's nice to have Komarov and Holland back, and it'll be neat to see all 2 minutes of Granberg, but I can't really get excited until the puck drops. (Then my "ME LIKE HOCKEY" brain takes over and I get excited anyway.)

Let's see if the all-star break gave them time to regroup, or if this team just truly sucks. I'm not sure which is worse, really.

What a hot pile of garbage this lineup is... 4-0 Devils! A prediction from the a self proclaimed troll. This team sucks and has nothing in the cupboard.

At least we have our draft picks unlike the previous decade. The KKK line how more offensive can this team get?

There it is.

The Leafs have picked 9 times in the first round over the last 10 years, 6 times with their own pick. One time they picked higher than where they finished, one time lower.

I prefer to call them the Grand Dragons.

Trading 1st round picks has become less of an issue, yes, but, trading picks in general has still been a problem. In that 10 year span, the Leafs have only had 3 drafts where they made at least 3 picks in the first 3 rounds. For a team in their situation, that's unacceptable. Without moving pieces at the deadline, this year will make it 3 in 11 - though, obviously, I expect that to change in the coming weeks.

Sort of. Starting with 70 of their own picks over ten years, the Leafs made 67 picks in that time. That's not good for a team with as little on-ice success as the Leafs have had and their spotty collection of second and third round picks isn't great but, then again, what the second and third rounders they have had produced probably shouldn't have anyone thinking that's the reason for the team's lack of success.

Scouting has obviously been an issue, as well, but, not retaining and/or acquiring picks has certainly compounded the issue. A team with 1 playoff appearance in a decade should never have less picks than the average in that same span. That's just not a recipe for success.
