Game Notes

TOR
?I'm going to guess McElhinney (5-4-2, 2.24 GAA, .931 Sv%) likely starts this one so Andersen can go up against his old team tomorrow night
?Not sure yet whether or not newly acquired Leaf Eric Fehr will jump into the line-up just yet

LA
?Jonathan Quick (1-0-1, 3.00 GAA, .916 Sv%) will likely make just his 4th start of the season and 3rd since returning from injury
?Jarome Iginla was expected to play with Kopitar on the Kings top line, but without a practice yet it's not a sure thing
?The Kings enter the post-TDL part of the season likely competing with St. Louis for the final wild card spot in the West. They currently sit 1 point behind them for that position
?LA currently has the 6th worst GF/GP rate in the league

Injuries

?Nathan Horton - Back - Out indefinitely
?Joffrey Lupul - ?\_(ツ)_/? - Out indefinitely
?Stephane Robidas - Old - Out indefinitely
?Connor Carrick - Upper Body - Injured Reserve
Code:

?Jordan Nolan - Leg - Day to day
?Matt Greene - Back - Injured Reserve

I Never expected that after the TDL the Leafs would be 3 points ahead of L.A. in the standings, lets make it 5, Go Leafs Go!

Let's not have a repeat of that 7-0 debacle to the Kings.

LA...Like SJ is a team the Leafs don't match up well against.  I've  got a bad feeling about this one.  Hope I'm wrong

JVR needs to have a good night. He's been invisible or worse of late. He needs to be strong down the stretch and show leadership.

Not sure why Leivo gets the shaft. Then again, not sure of a lot of things these days.

Gives the 4th line a little more speed. That's probably a good thing. Leivo likely isn't going to produce anyway with those 2 on the 4th line.

Morning skate today had Rielly with Marchenko and Gardiner with Zaitsev.  They had this in practice on Monday but reverted to the regular pairs on the game day skate Tuesday.  Will be interesting to see what they do come game time.

Rielly's numbers in February (since returning from injury) are awful:

GF60:  2.63
GA60:  4.30
GF%:  37.9%
Sv%:  0.875
CF60:  62.87
CA60: 64.78
CF%:  49.3

Before I leap all the blame on him though, Zaitsev hasn't exactly been stellar either.  I don't think Marchenko is really going to help Rielly, but if that's the pair that takes the lighter load it may work out.

Eh, that's fair. How much speed is required against the Kings though?

Maybe Trump gets impeached/unelected tonight.

maybe Babcock is going to alternate Sosh and Leivo for a bit....

Hopefully this time if there are 3 guys on one player, 1 of them will knock him down. That last one was hard to take. Fresh start tonight though!

Holy we are playing with a lot of piss and vinegar.

Every line has been feeding it to the Kings (who look as slow as expected).

LA has decided to play now, looking for a garbage goal. They're are just throwing it on net or near net from anywhere.
