I forget what radio station I was listening to, but there was speculation that if the Leafs dump Bozak, one way or another, they would be lacking up the middle. Kadri would be a decent 2nd center, but then who? Nylander is one option, but he's playing well on the top line. The conclusion was that we're kinda stuck with Bozak.

Maybe Colorado is asking too much for him, but Duchene could fit that 2nd line center role nicely.

I didn't think there was much of a fit previously, but now it seems like it could be a good idea.  I am very sleep deprived this week, so that could be a factor.
 
A trade was nixed yesterday between COL, OTT, and NAS purportedly revolving around Duchene to OTT, Turris to NAS, and maybe definitely not Ekholm (plus prospects and picks ? probably Girard) to COL.

Oddly public.

I would guess when it fell apart the Duchene camp was the one who started making calls.
 
Kind wish this deal had gone down, as it's almost a lateral move in terms of talent for Ottawa (Duchene is better, but not significantly, in my opinion). All they really would get out of it as a more expensive player signed for one additional season. The big winners in this deal would have appeared to be Nashville - especially if they didn't have to move one of their NHL D.
 
Good to know that Nashville is willing to part with some spare defense for scoring help on the wings.

This game of chicken Sakic is playing... is this what some people wanted the Leafs to do with Kessel? I don't see anyone willing to part with what Sakic is asking for.

Some more chatter about the deal that didn't happen (because this is what it has come to now). Sounds like Nashville pulled out of the threeway and the other two just felt awkward after that.
