Forward lines at Russia's first practice:

Ovechkin-Malkin-Semin
Radulov-Svitov-Kovalchuk
Tarasenko-Anisimov-Kulemin
Popov-Tereschenko-Tikhonov

Svitov is practicing in Datysuk's place for now. Semin goes from not being named to the team to practicing on the top line. Likely cost Kulemin a spot there.

Canada lines at practice so far...

Kunitz-Crosby-Carter
Nash-Toews-Sharp
Tavares-Getzlaf-Perry

Marleau-Bergeron-St. Louis-Benn-Duchene

Keith-Weber
Vlasic-Doughty
Bouwmeester-Pietrangelo
Subban/Hamuis

Three of those top 4 wingers have me going "hmmmmmmm"

That Getzlaf line could be the best in the tournament though with how those 3 are going.

I'd actually swap Tavares and Nash though. The Anaheim duo usually has a bigger guy on the left wing like Penner.

@APetrielli

So the Leafs (JVR and Kessel) have better first line wingers than Team Canada (Kunitz and Carter). Okay then.

It sure would be nice to see Taraves on Crosby's left wing but I think Carter will be fine. He scored/was on pace to score at least 30 goals in 6 straight seasons. 7 straight if you give him a break on his 29 goal season in 07/08.

Also, Canada's depth really is down the middle. Which makes sense as that's usually where the best players are. Their wing depth is still good but there's definitely a noticeable drop off. I would have brought Thornton too and ran Crosby-Getzlaf-Thornton-Bergeron down the middle which would have allowed both Tavares and Toews to play wing.

Switch up Toews and Getzlaf.

This is funny:

Pressure on the Canadian team?  Pffft.  If RUS bombs Putin will execute them one by one.  With his bare hands.
