Apparently Friedman thinks there is a strong possibility he will be a Leaf (please forgive me for not knowing how to embed tweets).

Friedman on Zaitsev: "Everybody in the league believes he's going to Toronto." Lot of teams feel it's signed, sealed and delivered. #Leafs

Does anyone know much about his guy? Where would he slot in the Leafs' D?

He's a bigger body who skates well and likes to jump into the rush.  Likely would be a 5/6 guy at least to start but he's really excelling in the KHL.  Things can always change but this was pretty much locked up in the summer.  The Leafs met with him a few times but he had 1-more year of KHL contract and he's honoring that deal before coming to North America.

Sound good and on the comments he made about T.O. sound like he wants to be in the small apple.
