Preseason - Leafs @ Wings - Oct. 2nd, 7:30pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

Hockey in October! No line-ups yet, but it's expected that Reimer will start tonight. Expect another NHL-heavy line-up, as it's been reported that Kapanen and Hyman will be the only players from the non-NHL group playing (that means no Nylander or Brown).

The Wings will also likely have a line-up that closely resembles their opening night group.

Admittedly, I get easily distracted during the games so far this pre-season, but I thought Hyman looked alright.

I'm sure he's destined for the 'A', but I like his game from what I remember seeing.

And really, there are hardly any guys that have impressed me other than Brown and Nylander.  I don't even think that Kadri has shown much jump so far.

It's obviously early, but you'd think that some of the vets would want to impress their new coach.

Robidas on the top pairing, Leafs might get fined for tanking if they start the season like that.

Unless it goes against the salary cap, I'm fine with that fine.

It's just the Buffalo strategy. Perfectly legit.

It would be pretty cool to get Matthews though...that's what I plan to keep telling myself during the season.

Once you resign yourself to the fact that the Leafs aren't going to be good for at least a couple more seasons, it becomes pretty easy to treat watch them like you're watching a comedy.

For me, it'll be Schadenfreude. Like this:

I know what's coming, and it'll be very satisfying to see it fulfilled (because of the potential gains).

I should probably put this in the predictions thread, but I'm saying that Detroit's playoff streak ends this season.  Injuries will continue to take a toll on the old guard? Datsyuk & Z, Franzen & Kronwall? and this time, they won't be able to overcome it.

Anyone find a good stream?  All I can find is this low quality one:

If anyone has an HD one that would be great

Hyman is making this team for sure.

He's relentless and I'm sure Babs will love that.

Reminds me a little of Abdelkader.

I don't know if he will but I wouldn't mind if he did.

He's definitely earned it, the fact that he doesn't have to through waivers might hurt him though.

As I posted after the last game, Reimer is making a strong case to start the season as #1.

Seeing Cleary get smacked in the face like that, for the life of me I don't understand why the league doesn't mandate cages.  The players all grew up with them and I can't believe they can't make a design out of clear plastic so there's no vision issues.
