Apparently Gavrikov, Korpisalo for Quick and a 1st

I never realized that Korpisalo has been around for so long. His stache is great!

Seems pretty good for the Kings? Improve their defense and their goaltending for a playoff run for a 1st.

Unload Jonathan Quick + 1st + 3rd for Korpisalo + Gavrikov

Solid deal for LA.  Understandable why Quick would be mad but he just isn't an NHL caliber goaltender anymore.  I wonder if he will actually report to Columbus given that he is 37 and he's going to a team that is trying to win Bedard.

1st for Gavrikov (who the market has kinda dried up on after BOS/TOR/EDM picked up their defencemen over him) and a 3rd for Korpisalo (who has good numbers this season, but is a very untrustworthy starter) while Columbus needs to take on Quick's deal to make it happen as opposed to retaining on anyone.

Seems fine for the Kings. Will really depend on if Korpisalo keeps playing well. If they moved Quick, who was obviously very much loved in that dressing room, to get Korpisalo and he doesn't end up being an upgrade over him and that'd be pretty rough.

I was hoping for Korpisalo as insurance in case of Murray disaster. Oh well.

I don't follow Columbus so I don't know a lot about Korpisalo but has he been really good? His SV% is good I guess, but he's only played in half of Columbus' games.

I would understand him being pretty upset if he didn't get any notion from the club that they were looking to move on. Sure it's a business and you'd think he'd be prepared for it given his contract status and play this year but he's done a lot for that franchise and you'd think a little heads-up would be the bare minimum you'd give a guy of his statuer.

From an on-ice perspective I completely get it.  He had a .910 SV% last year but has been a below average since 2017-2018 (and is arguably the worst goaltender in the league this year)

But this is also an organization that just erected a statue for a guy with 712 points so Quick is essentially a next in line for a statue kind of guy.  It kind of reminds me of the way the Leafs treated Sundin at the end of his tenure.  Treat the guys who have been with your organization since the dawn of time better.
