I'm going to foolishly pick the Sharks to win this in 5. Foolish since they always seem to be a playoff letdown against the better teams.

Probably the biggest coin flip of the 1st round. I'll go LA in 7, just because the Sharks have a history of being playoff disappointments.

I'm going to say that San Jose takes this in 7. With Hertl back they are apparently thinking of moving Pavelski back to wing and Thornton-Couture-Pavelski down the middle is pretty scary.

Sharks with a dominant (first two periods) game and a 6-3 win. They were up 3-0 after 1 (2 goals in the final minute) and 5-0 after 2 before the Kings made a bit of a show of it until an empty netter sealed the deal. Will game 2 be as lopsided?

Man, how is this game 7-2? It's hard to believe because the Kings are like the #1 team in the league in goals against.

I'm thinking same.  What in heaven's name has gone so awry for the Kings? Or, is it that the Sharks are simply the smarter team here?

Jonathan (not so) Quick with 12 goals against in 2 games so far.  On the Cup run Quick only gave up 29 goals in 20 games and gave up 34 in 18 last year.

Just caught the tail-end of this game. It's headed to OT but the Sharks were frantically trying to finish the Kings off.

The Kings have looked terrible for the most part, but if they can pull this one off I can see this OT being the momentum-changing point of the series.

The Kings are a tough-as-nails team to knock off in a series, while the Sharks have been through their fair share of playoff letdowns.

Obviously if it goes the other way and the Sharks win, then they're pretty much assured the series win.

Edit: Marleau just scored, so the Kings are pretty much toast.

San Jose 4  Los Angele 3  OT.  Sharks lead series 3 games to O.

Desperation times for the L.A. Kings as the San Jose Sharks have them hanging  on the precipice of elimination.  Lady Luck does not appear to be on the Kings' side.  Too too bad.

With the way this series has completely changed course over the last two games, part of me is beginning to wonder if maybe the Sharks were just looking for a new way to be a playoff disappointment this season and decided blowing a 3-0 series lead seemed like a fun route to take.

Los Angeles 3  San Jose 0.  Sharks lead series 3 games to 2.

For the L.A. Kings, it was goaltender Jonathan Quick's game, much as it had been in L.A.'s Game 4 victory at home.

For the San Jose Sharks goaltender Antii Niemi, not so much.  Pulled in this game and on the losing side in Game 4 as well, Niemi looked suddenly shaky, much like the rest of the Sharks squad who couldn't figure out a desperate L.A. team once again.

Could Los Angeles be on the verge of a complete comeback?  With the way Quick and the rest of the team is playing, anything's possible.

Now it looks like they won't have Vlasic, and looks like Stalock is getting the start tonight.

If San Jose doesn't win tonight, I don't think they make it out of the 1st round.
