Glad to hear that about Kuly. I was worried his lack of offence might keep him off. But he's been very loyal to their World Championship team and is still probably their best or secone best defensive forward (Datsyuk).

Good for Kulie, he deserves it. Ovechkin had some very positive comments about him earlier in the season. That combined with his two way play, previous history with Malkin and the national team definitely helped his case.

I'm really interested to see what this roster does with the heavy KHL contingent.  This is going to be the first time we get a chance to see just how good the KHL matches up to the NHL.

Really happy for Kulemin.  On one hand, I hope we manage to keep him long term - he's still one of my favourite leafs.  On the other hand, I'd love for him to have the opportunity to play with Malkin in Pittsburg - I think he'd take off.

I don't think he ever hits 30 goals again, but if he gets signed to a multi-year deal by a mediocre team that gives him legitimate top 6 minutes/PP opportunity I think he reverts back to a 20 goal, 50 point player.

According to Slava Malamud from sport-express.ru, Kulemin is expected to play with Ovechkin and Malkin.

Talk about an upgrade from McClement...

I know he is there to be the defensive conscience of that line, but I think he is being misused in Toronto right now.  His 5on5 scoring numbers are among the numbers of JVR/Lupul/Kadri/Holland.  I really would like to see him on a line with Kessel and see what happens.  Kessel - Bozak - Kulemin;  Lupul - Kadri/Holland - JVR

I mean, as always, that'll be a heck of a top 6 and there's goaltending talent but that defense?

I've been thinking the same, especially given our scoring issues.  Spread things out a bit more and hopefully re-ignite Kulemin's offense.

It looks like such a forgettable defense group.

Like, maybe a bit better than the Czechs and Finns, but nowhere close to what the Canadians, Americans and Swedes have.

For that reason I don't expect them going the distance in this tourny.
