After successfully sweeping the Seattle Mariners in their four game series at home, the Blue Jays will now face the N.L.'s Atlanta Braves, in a two-game Interleague matchup.
The Jays (17-21), hope to continue their winning ways and also hope to have Troy Tulowitzki back into the lineup this week. The Blue Jays offence has been churning out the runs thanks to a combination of hitters the likes of Bautista, Pillar, Goins, and Smoak who have smashed homers, doubles, whatever it has taken, to get the bases running. In this period, the Jays have dramatically lessened their stranded base running and turned it instead into points on the board.
Kevin Pillar leads the A.L. in hits, and the Jays have homered in 21 times so far in this month of May. The Jays are at their best when the power hitters come to the fore and the balls sail out of the park. So far, so very, very good. They'll be looking to bring their w/l record closer to .500.
