The Jays rivals the Baltimore Orioles are in town as the two teams open up a four game series here at the Rogers Centre.  The main Blue Jay thrasher on the Orioles who has practically ''feasted" on the Jays pitching, is none than other Oriole power hitter Chris Davis.  More than any other hitters in the league, Davis possesses the greatest number of home runs  against the Blue Jays of any player.

That's probably one of the keys to containing Baltimore.  The other is to score plenty of runs themselves.

GO JAYS GO!

Orioles  2    Jays 1

Yes, another loss. (*sigh*)  The Blue Jays simply cannot seem get themselves out of this vicious losing cycle (they are now 1-8 with among one of the most anemic offences in the league.

For a brief moment in Thursday's game, it looked like Jays' MVP Josh Donaldson might just have started a comeback as his double scored Bautistaacross home plate.  But...

...Donaldson gripped his calf after practically limping into second base.  End of story right there.  If Donaldson's recuring calf injury takes him to the DL, it will further impact the Jays puny offence -- Donaldson leads the the team in the offensive category a 1.014 OPS (On Base Plus Slugging) calf-tightening or no calf -tightening.  His WAR (Wins Above Replacement) is 16.8 (second- best  in MLB since having joined the Jays in 2015).

Hey the Jays tried to give the game away with Osuna blowing the save opportunity, but Morales was having none of it with the walk-off HR.
Going to the game tomorrow, hopefully this is the start of a winning streak!

Picked a bad game to go to, best part was the "Bringer of Rain" umbrella giveaway. Happ hurt his elbow, left in the 5th and fell to 0-3 on the season. Jays got their share of hits, but stranded a ton of baserunners. Matt Dermody threw BP to the O's late in the game....good times!  :P

If the Jays don't start putting a few in the win column I think we see Shatkins go into sell mode with some of these guys.

That's all the Blue Jays have been doing since their season opener on the road -- stranding runners.  God knows how many it's been since then, but way, way too many with too many opportunities lost to gain a run scored, etc.

If this team doesn't turn it around soon, the front office may need to act. I doubt it would surprise anyone if they did.
