Sparks gets the start

I also wish Sparks all the best.  It would be great to see him win his 1st NHL start.  I won't mention him getting a ... well, you know... like a no hitter.  :o

I have had a feeling about this kid since the Guelph days.  Let hope he is the guy so we don't have to search elsewhere and give up picks and lets hope Bernier finds his mojo, somewhere.

I absolutely love the fact that, despite the serious history behind this franchise that you can still see history being made. First ever Leafs goalie to get a shut out in debut. That's incredible when you think of the goalies who've represented this franchise.

Happy that he got the win.  Save for a few nervous momerits at the outset, he settled down and was composed the rest of the way.

One thing that bugged me was that Bernier was asked for his thoughts after the game and rather than say something nice about Sparks and how he played he made it all about himself, acted like a total dick and said "No Comment". Reimer on the other hand was the first guy down in the tunnel to congratulate Sparks.

Bernier is stuck in Pepsiland and needs his brain to be taken out and examined & replaced with a CocaCola brain. If you are English and have lived in the big Q you will completely understand what I just said.
If this is true then he is in fact a total dick and should have been the first to congratulate his replacement. If you can't get the job done then step aside Pal.

I did!  :D. Certainly didn't expect the shutout, but figured he'd have a good chance at getting the win against the god-awful Oilers.

Dont get too attached to him. There's a pile of ufa's that can easily replace what he gives the leafs....

JKR, half the fun of this game is getting attached to players?and somehow in a childlike manner we are ready to give them up?. I remember when I would have been pissed if Kaberle was traded and then he had to go.
I wanted Kessel to come and was glad to see him go?strange how our affections and realizations change.

I love the message of the first one but I'm sure Mr. Fish Bulb understands the practical limitations there.
