We've seen MLB drop the hammer on Braun, and plans to do so to many more.  Here's a snippet from an article on TSN which bred this poll:

"Fischer told "Outside the Lines" that at least one player from various leagues had received PEDs from Tony Bosch, the clinic's founder. In addition to Major League Baseball players, Fischer cited NBA players, NCAA players, professional boxers, tennis players and MMA fighters. According to Fischer, Bosch had no clients in the NFL or NHL."

We may be in denial thinking hockey players are clean.  Maybe they just are.  I see the argument for both sides.

I doubt they're clean as in 100% clean but I doubt that it's a significant problem. That said I'm someone who's pro-chemical assistance in sports so either way works for me.

I'd say upwards of 70% of pro athletes are using PED's on the regular and over 95% have at least tried/used them at some time.

We're at a point now where the reward outweighs the risk for a lot of these guys, at the top end of pro sports, it really is all about the tiniest of margins and these PED's really do work, with millions of dollars on the line, I think most wouldn't think twice.

I'm also with Nik where I think we're at a point where keeping certain substances illegal is rather pointless.

No sport is 'clean', not even hockey (both pro & other).  It's probably not a steep problem in the NHL, but it's probably there nevertheless.

I'm not one to pass judgement, but, there really is no level-playing field if an athlete is punished at the expense of the others.

Personally, I don't condone performance enhancers of any kind.  Unfortunately, reality is reality and suspicion goes more than a long way here in the realm of all sports.
