Knies extended [6 years, $7.75mil AAV]

Knies still needs to grow into that deal a bit but 6 years should make the total contract good value. Tavares and Knies are back for essentially 1M more

And the cap went up 7.5M (8.5%) so to get them back for essentially the same price (1.3% increase) is good work from Management (thank you, Amulet)

It’s a touch rich, but still under what Nylander earned in cap hit % on contract 2 (6.96 M out of 79.5M).

I think Domi's at market. Again I've talked about him not being a great fit here but that's not really for cap reasons. He just doesn't really have anywhere to hide here like he would on other teams.

OEL I'd say is market at best right now. I mean soon to be 34-year old 3rd pairing guy at $3.5mil.

Genuinely unsure what would lead anyone to think that Jarnkrok is anything but over priced at this point. Maybe he has a bounce back season but if he was a UFA right now he's not getting over $2mil.

If Domi isn't playing with Matthews he really doesn't have a fit on this team.

Jarnkrok would get a league minimum deal is he was a free agent right now.
 
Based on where the salary cap is supposed to go in the next few years this is a solid deal for the Leafs. It's already fine in year 1 and will be an absolute bargain by the end if Knies continues the way he's been going
 
Knies announced this on his instagram but has since removed it. Official Leafs account hasn’t said anything.

I don’t think there is drama, but just curious what’s going on.
