2025 Blue Jays

I read over the first few pages of this thread. We’ve certainly had our expectations exceeded. 😃

The thing that I always said was the team didn’t play loose or like they were having fun and had tried to be “too serious”
To their detriment. Small things like being too serious for having the home run jacket.

I definitely think that letting themselves have fun has helped this season.

I know that’s in no way quantifiable but this team made itself easy to support and is getting the rewards of that imo.

Haha, here's my post from Feb 2025. Vladdy contract, small ball, and a couple of starters pulled out of Shatkin's ass. Good job to the organization for reversing the narrative and results. Went from trash, to found money, to World Series contenders.

The turnaround pretty interesting. The front office seemed to want to build the best defensive team in baseball as the number one focus. Having this team be one of the top offensive teams in baseball (homers be damned) is pretty remarkable. Jays led MLB in batting average and On-Base percentage.

Guys like Clement, Lukes, Barger, Schneider, Heinemen, Loperfido all having good offensive seasons was really unexpected and kind of making all the difference.

You lose Bo for a playoff series? Who care you have Ernie Clement. 😅

You need another injury to add someone to the roster. So at best he plays in the World Series but if he still has discomfort in his knee I think it's a lot less likely that he'll be ready in a week for the World Series. I would still counter that IKF is a net negative asset on the roster though so even if Bo can only pinch hit I think that's an upgrade

It doesn’t sound like he can run, so he can’t really pinch hit either.
 
Hopefully he’s watching and realising he’d like to sign a new loooong contract so he can be part of this next time
