MLSE wants to get the guy who landed Steven Stamkos in free agency.
No matter how the season goes from this point, there would be some entertainment
There has been valid criticism of Berube but I don't blame him for all of this mess. I think he's on ok guy/players coach.
Except for a couple of years of Berube's contract, they don't have much to lose at this point. Average NHL coach lasts 2.4 years so it is not that far off the expectation with MLSE's deep pockets. But I doubt they'll fire Berube any time soon.

Massive loss for USA if he's out. He was an absolute lunatic vs Canada in the 4 Nations.

Oh look, the league looked into it and provided no supplemental discipline. Leaving your feet as a non-NHL player to drive an elbow into their head is only worth a 2 minute minor to the league. Nylander giving the middle finger is a fine. Sergachev giving the middle finger is nothing. The league is beyond a joke.
He played the round-robin game against Canada and ran over McDavid and jumped on Crosby. The Canada game was his last of the season. Shoulder injury became infected, I believe.
