Not to mention boatloads of cap space. Obviously this isn't their only "window" necessarily but I wonder how aggressive they go over the next 3 seasons while they have Suzuki and Caufield on their $7.875mil deals.

Plus signing ridiculous player friendly contracts and shoving the majority of their cap in 4 players. Molsons is not that dumb.

They had to learn how to compete in the beverage market with domestic and foreign competitors and have delivered multiple Cups to their city in the past.
 
Landeskog loaned to the AHL for a conditioning stint.

Dallas vs. Colorado in the first round is going to be absurd.
 
Meaningful games for the Leafs tonight:

Detroit @ Florida
- Detroit is 8 points back of Montreal for the last playoff spot with 5 games remaining (4 for Montreal). A regulation loss all but eliminates them (Magic point number of 1). The Leafs play Detroit for Game 82 and this will likely be a meaningless game for the Red Wings but could still affect the Leafs playoff spot.
- Florida is 6 points back of Toronto for the division lead with 4 games remaining. A regulation loss guarantees they can't win the division. The magic number is 3 points otherwise.
- Florida is 3 points back of Tampa. Tampa's magic number is current 6 to finish ahead of Florida.
- Florida is 4 points up on Ottawa. Their magic number is 5
- Florida is 7 points up on Montreal. Their magic number is 1.

Hurricanes @ Capitals
- Carolina is 4 points back of Toronto with 5 games remaining. Carolina holds the first tiebreaker with the Leafs so the magic number is 7 points. This would only matter if Carolina and Toronto were to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
- The Leafs play Carolina (5PM game so get ready for weird game in Carolina shenanigans) so that game could lock up the standings between these teams.

A best case scenario would be a Florida win in OT and a Carolina loss.

Yes you are right. Fixed that. It eliminates Montreal from getting to A3 and creating a Leafs A2 vs. Habs A3 matchup, but could still have a Leafs A1 vs. Habs WC1 matchup.

I was kinda shocked when I saw the Habs had a chance of catching Ottawa. A couple of weeks ago it seemed certain the sens were gonna finish in the WC1 spot. Winning 6 in a row would do that though I guess.

This tweet prompted me to check in on how Brazeau's done since his trade to Minnesota. 17 games, 1 goal, 0 assists. Team worst 40.2% CF and team worst 38.1% xGF since the deadline. Now a healthy scratch. Too bad, was going to be a lot easier to cheer for the guy now that he wasn't a Bruin.
