I think I remarked on this eidetic memory sort thing some prolific goal scorers have (Crosby for sure). Probably really helps when pick spots to target on goalies they?ve faced before.

Johansen had money (4M) being retained in Nashville I believe.  Do the Preds get that cap saving back or does it stay as a cap hold until the grievance is heard.

I think Kuznetsov was a recent example where the remaining cap hit was taken off both teams (CAR/WSH), but that contract termination was mutual.

I'm pretty curious to see how this grievance goes. Short of Johansen like just faking this injury I don't get how the Flyers would be allowed to do this without any penalty/settlement required. And if they end up with any cap hit whatsoever from the grievance, which I'd be shocked if they didn't, they almost certainly would have just been better off letting the contract stay on LTIR for another season until it expired.

I think they get the savings, but, if the grievance goes Johansen's way, it would be reinstated. They're better off not using it until everything is settled.

Dakota Joshua will miss the start of the season recovering from testicular cancer.

Remember to check your junk lads.

Awful. Hope he has a quick recovery.

Just a random musing, but how much non-Leafs NHL hockey would people watch? Like in terms of the NHL I?m very much a Leafs fan who likes the game of hockey, and if I?m in a city where hockey is on I?ll try and take in a game (I?ve been lucky to catch games in Boston, New York, DC, New Jersey, Stockholm non of which involved the Leafs).

But I?ll often sit down on a Sunday evening, say, and I?ll stick on a game between Columbus and Minnesota. But I find that actually I?m not watching or switch it off.

Even the likes of NHL today with the highlights maybe the first couple of weeks of the season I?ll watch but then I could go weeks without looking at another NHL game/team.

(Obviously I watch another non NHL team, but even then I would rarely watch other games in the British league or even highlights of other games)

I don't watch any other games, just the highlights and write-ups...I have a hard enough time fitting Leafs games into my life!

Watching the Leafs 82 games a year, plus their seven annual playoff games is enough.  Rarely watch any other hockey during the season.  Playoffs tend to watch more.

If the Leafs folded or disbanded, I would no longer NHL watch hockey. I watch every Leaf game.

I watch the highlights every day, and keep good tabs on most teams comings and goings.
