    Blue Jackets @ Maple Leafs - Jan. 22nd, 7:30pm - SN, Fan 590

Definitely counts as being on the roster, whether he's on the bench or in the pressbox. Being dressed means he's also in the lineup, but, not seeing the ice means he doesn't get credit for the game played in his stats. The question is does the waivers clock count games played or games in the lineup.

Yeah. I know, but, the league is often weird about stuff like that. He's considered in the lineup if he's dressed, but, doesn't get credit for a game played if he doesn't see the ice. I could be wrong, but that's how I've understood it working in the past.

Just in terms of the games, I believe he doesn't have to play for them to count. He just has to be in the lineup - which, if he's the backup, he would be considered to be.

Especially less than 2 minutes into the game. Like, nothing had even developed to make the fight have any meaning. It was basically them getting out of the way.

Wouldn't shock me if there's a game time decision in there, too.

    2024-25 NHL Thread

Umm, yes. At the very least, I want consistency within the game. If it’s a penalty in the first, it’s a penalty all game long, regardless of the situation. Different refs are going to have different standards. Nothing we can do about that, but, as long as they’re not all over the place (which...

No, but it also wouldn’t surprise me to see him take a performance bonus heavy contract with a lower guaranteed base. Like $18m that can become $30m+

Good. Nip the republican useless fishing trips in the bud before they can waste the time they should be spending actually governing the country.

    Idiocracy 2024

Considering the farce they they pushing trying to tie Hunter’s actions to his father to try to make some equivalence between the Biden’s and the Trumps, it’s totally understandable. Even after their key witness admitted everything he said tying the Vice President Biden to Hunter’s business was a...

    2025 Blue Jays

One bad year and suddenly his bat - by far his best asset - is not that great. In a typical season, dude is a hit machine. Last year was the first time he had an OPS+ below 121. Overall, before last season, he had a career OPS+ of 126! He needs to work some on his patience at the plate (not a...

Either they feel they have a strong chance of landing Sasaki with a comparable offer or there's a few other international free agents they have deals with (or both).

Yup. If a player is eligible to become a UFA at the end of the contract (regardless of whether or not they actually hit the market), it's not a bridge deal. That contract was fair value for how he had performed on his ELC. The fact that he broke out after that and became one of the top players...

Not much bargaining that can happen in this situation. Because of his age, Sasaki's contract is limited by each team's international free agent bonus pool. LA, San Diego, and Toronto all have almost the same amounts available to them right now.

    Federal Election 2019

Not enough time to repair the damage without something major happening. Even a lot of long time Liberal supporters recognize that the party needs to get back to their more traditional positions instead of joining the exodus from the middle of the political spectrum. Going to take a good amount...

Also, the league is well within their rights to get their own medical opinion in situations like this, and if they thought the whole thing was a ploy to get of the contract, you know they would have slapped the Leafs with a significant penalty. If there isn’t an injury that can be legitimately...

He had a legit injury and it was a one year contract. That narrative doesn't hold much water.

2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Why would it be fake news? They could very well be legitimately interested. Also, no one ever seriously suggested his issues were something that happened while he was a Leaf. They just became unmanageable that season, which is why he ended up getting surgery to address and repair his hips.
