That was ridiculous. The Corey Perry rant was interesting. Is the way the NHL's rules change according to the game script right or wrong? In the first period, this is a penalty, in the last minute of the game it's not. What's right? When watching I always don't want a cheap call to decide a game but maybe all penalties regardless of the game script should be penalties.

Yes so delayed peanalty and whistle doesn't go until Van touches the puck....either way, game over.
Besides THAT PLAY, would you like all games to be called exactly the same regardless of importance (playoffs) and game script?
I think they should call all penalties at all times. Refs have too much of an impact when they put their whistle away. No one knows when or why they do it so it's way too subjective and random. F-ing Fraser!

It's a hard job because of the speed and sometimes the refs are blocked. I think they should be allowed to review any call made. As for the penalties themselves, like Ray Ferraro says, just call the penalties no matter what time or situation it is.

Umm, yes. At the very least, I want consistency within the game. If it’s a penalty in the first, it’s a penalty all game long, regardless of the situation.
Different refs are going to have different standards. Nothing we can do about that, but, as long as they’re not all over the place (which it feels like they are right now), it’s fine. But, in game, there’s no reason for standards to change.
