    Kings vs. Maple Leafs - Mar. 29th, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

The only angle that showed contact clearly was from a pretty deceptive angle, so I can definitely see why the officials thought it was inconclusive and stuck with the ruling on the ice.

    Sharks vs. Maple Leafs - Mar. 27th, 10:30pm - SN, TSN 1050

They definitely had to do something different, but, it's certainly a fair question to ask if they chose the right different path or swung too far in a different direction.

2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Everyone on the team needs to put into the best positions to maximize their ability to help the team win, regardless of how much they make. If that includes time on the PK, then so be it. Marner, for example, has generally been excellent on the PK and hasn't had it impact his ability to...

2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Magic numbers for the Leafs to officially eliminate the possibility of teams from passing them (not including FLA & TB, because they both basically require clean sweeps at this point): OTT - 14 MON - 7 CBJ - 7 NYI - 7 NYR - 5 DET - 2 BOS, PIT, PHI & BUF already eliminated. Earliest the Leafs...

    Sharks vs. Maple Leafs - Mar. 27th, 10:30pm - SN, TSN 1050

First game on a west coast swing is often messy. No surprise this one was, too. Still, against a team like the Sharks, they should be better.

Coaching and management changes around the league

I figured this would probably happen in the offseason, so, not a surprise.

2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Magic numbers for the Leafs to officially eliminate the possibility of teams from passing them (not including FLA & TB, because they both basically require clean sweeps at this point): OTT - 15 MON - 11 CBJ - 8 NYI - 8 NYR - 6 DET - 6 (5 if the Leafs get one more RW or DET goes to OT) BOS, PIT...

    Flyers @ Maple Leafs - Mar. 25th, 7:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Flyers are a bad team with bad goaltending playing badly.

    Idiocracy 2024

Tapped into a grievance, for sure. The GOP knows jobs in a lot of these industries are never coming back in any significant way, but, as long as they never acknowledge it publicly and say they’ll fight for them (even though they never really do), they get the votes. That’s what the current GOP...

    2024-25 General Trades and Signings

With the way the cap is going up, we probably need to revise what we think of as a $9M defender. It's ultimately going to be closer to what we think of as a $6M-$7M guy, which is probably right around where he was in Arizona when healthy.

    2024-25 General Trades and Signings

Ottawa was strangely desperate to get rid of him. It's not like he had an awful season in Ottawa. He was largely victimized by their bad goaltending and overall inconsistent play.

    2025 Blue Jays

Even if he doesn’t, with his defence, if he can produce anywhere above league average, it’s a good deal.

    Predators vs. Maple Leafs - Mar. 22nd. 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

Completely abandoned his side of the ice to try an unnecessarily aggressive play. He plays that smarter and that’s a nothing play.

2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

You mean the exception that will be reason every high end player will be absolutely demanding full trade protection moving forward?

    Canadian Federal Election 2025

The problem is that the CPC as a whole don’t seem to want to move much towards the middle, largely out of fear of losing their base. They’d gain a lot more votes than they’d lose, but those votes are nowhere near as vocal as those that might abandon them of the PPC.

2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

That’s really splitting hairs, to be honest. If a player doesn’t want to be traded, it’s pretty easy for them to block the teams that they know have the assets and the need to get a trade done. They still basically control their own fate. Modified clauses most give teams the illusion of freedom.
