I don't doubt that Cowan has the ability to fill that role, he might even legit be the best option for 4RW right now. I'm just not sure how to juggle that and what's best for his personal development. Regardless it's nice to see a better training camp performance out of him this year.

I had some mild concerns about a Stolarz extension considering his age, injury history, and lack of experience. But at this price, especially with where the cap is going, all that goes away. This feels pretty steal-y.

One guy on the cusp I've been a little curious about is Benning. If he could get back to how he was playing a few years ago he's got the ability to beat out Myers for the 7D spot. This makes it look like Berube's giving him a shot.

I'd love to see Laughton moved up to the checking line with Roy. Gives him a bigger role on the team. He's good defensively. He can be a bit of a pest at times which can work well against certain players. The other benefit is that it would allow him and Roy, both of who typically hover a little...

That feels almost too NHL-heavy for game 2 of the preseason. Somewhat notable that Haymes has jumped into that 3C spot with Roy out instead of the older and more experienced Quillan.

Small note but Siegel mentioned that the Leafs seem to be trying OEL on the left side of his pairing with Benoit at camp. Feels like it's worth a shot, believe OEL played better on the left last season.

I think Cowan's just a placeholder for Maccelli, who's currently just a placeholder for Domi.
