One guy on the cusp I've been a little curious about is Benning. If he could get back to how he was playing a few years ago he's got the ability to beat out Myers for the 7D spot. This makes it look like Berube's giving him a shot.

That feels almost too NHL-heavy for game 2 of the preseason. Somewhat notable that Haymes has jumped into that 3C spot with Roy out instead of the older and more experienced Quillan.

First preseason game at home. Still no line-ups announced but since the team goes back on the road for their Thursday game expect a lot more NHLers in the line-up for this one. Maybe even the debut of the new look top line with Maccelli.

Small note but Siegel mentioned that the Leafs seem to be trying OEL on the left side of his pairing with Benoit at camp. Feels like it's worth a shot, believe OEL played better on the left last season.

I think Cowan's just a placeholder for Maccelli, who's currently just a placeholder for Domi.

McMann with JT and Nylander being the notable thing here.

Lines from practices will be out soon enough but certainly seems like Domi's injury will give Maccelli the early look on the top line.

I got carried away with playing with filters so these were all the defencemen last year to be 6'2" or below and 220 lbs or above (Rielly was listed at 6'1", 225 lbs): Rielly, Ian Cole, Luke Schenn, David Savard, Ryan Pulock, Alexander Romanov, Jack Johnson, and Ryan Shea. Certainly an odd group...

Villeneuve put on almost 10 lbs since last season, almost 20 lbs since he was drafted now. Not exactly expecting much from him in what is a pretty big make or break season, but having more of a NHL body won't hurt.

The NCAA has some restrictions and whatnot around that, so those players rarely if ever attend training camps.
