6 straight losses for the Pens.

This one pushes them back into 9th place.

I hear Crosby has started skating today - you think this is coincidental? Neal's busted foot that miraculously turned into a bruise seems a bit sketchy. Did you happen to hear if their team physician was fired yesterday?

Definitely, yes. Will accompany the team on their road trip, not to play, just practice. It's a good start, at least, on his way back to eventually playing again.

It still sounds like the chances of him returning this season are slim.

Sounds to me like a "look, Crosby might be back, try and pull something out and he can hobble on to the ice if we someone maybe got to the Finals" kind of thing.  I think he's there trying to be the teams Captain more than anything else.

Inspirational Leader?

Some notable non All-Stars as I quickly look over the roster;

Brad Richards
Rick Nash
Jake Gardiner (I think he could/should have made the rookie team.)
Loui Eriksson
Ryan Getzlaf (crappy year but c'mon.)
Joe Thornton (kinda the same boat as Getzlaf)
Anze Kopitar

Man, I can go on and on...

48 NHLers who have played more than 1000 games with the same team...

Chara being named an All-Star captain is creating quite the stir... Jokes about him drafting Kessel so he can continue to "own" him...

That actually made me laugh... and then cry a little.

He never actually played for us so I didn't want to make a thread in the ex-Leafs section, but Jimmy Hayes just scored for Chicago.  Pretty nice start to his career.  That gives him 4 goals and 2 assists in his first 9.5 games thus far.

Chicago's putting the beat down on the Sabres, putting their playoff hopes on life support.
