2011-2012 NHL Thread

I don't want to hear about how good Gabriel Landeskog is.

EDIT: Or Sean Couturier.  Can we add their names to the censor list so that it gets turned into Mika Zibanejad every time someone writes it?

No.

Darryl Sutter is subtle.  Sometimes it's tough to tell what he's getting at.

Rich Hammond @lakingsinsider

Sutter: "(Penner) went out of the lineup because he was horse(crap), so he'd better step up to the plate or he might not get another look."

How 'both them Ducks, eh?

A bunch of teams have played themselves back into the playoff chase (either through their own play or the struggles of the 6-8 teams.

The Islanders and Tampa Bay are both 6 points back of the Leafs with a game in hand.  Pheonix when from out of the playoffs to 7th by going 8-1-1 in their last 10.  Playoff spots are going to go down to the wire in both conferences.

Scoreboard watching for tonight - the Caps could move the Leafs out of 8th with a win over the Canes. With Cam Ward probably out, it doesn't bode well for us.

I think it is more a case of the Leafs playing themselves out of a playoff position right now.

Tlusty with 9 points in his last 7 games.

Amazing what a little patience can do for a player's development. Tlusty's starting to develop into the type of player he was expected to be.

To be fair, Phillipe Paradis has TWO goals in 41 games this year!!!

4-0, can't see Washington suddenly remembering how to score

I'm not entirely convinced that Tlusty isn't producing for Stajan-like reasons (getting playing time on a bad team), but I never had anything against Tlusty so good for him if he can keep it up.

I love that the Caps are keeping the Leafs in it. Now let's start winning.

Ferret, are we cheering for the Caps to knock out the Leafs, or the Canes to give us a little more breathing room?

Don't care - that stuff will work itself out. I stress over one team and one team alone...
