So apparently Bissonette's 10 game suspension was reduced to 3.

Maybe this means Clarkson gets a reduction too?

TSNBobMcKenzie: For those asking on reducing Clarkson's 10 gamer, no chance. Need video evidence to create element of doubt. There's none on Clarkson. #TFC

I'm confused. There's no video of Clarkson leaving the bench? How would video evidence of someone leaving the bench create doubt about what's supposed to be an automatic suspension?

It's poorly worded by Bob, but, from what I understand, there was no clear video for Bissonette, so there was legitimate question as to whether or not he left the bench to get involved. For Clarkson, however, the video evidence of him leaving the bench is pretty clear.

Horsepoo.  If they can reduce it for Bissonette, they should for Clarkson.  The NHL really is a joke on the "discipline" front.

Thanks, it was a stupid question on my part given that Clarkson didn't even appeal.

So basically Leafs TV is to blame for doing such a good job broadcasting a meaningless preseason game and providing lots of "video evidence" to convict Clarkson!  :P

If there is no "video evidence" of Biz Nasty leaving the bench then why is he being suspended at all? If he isn't being given the 10 game suspension then there is nothing there to reduce down to 3 games?
Things like this make the NHL look pretty Mickey Mouse!  ::)

Minnesota Wild's Josh Harding's goaltending mask...a tribute to many and as Canadian as a "woollen tuque" gets to look (on a mark)...

New season, new rules...get ready for hybrid icing and it's possible 'controversies'...

The announcers are completely right. I can see putting your tough guys out there to make sure nothing happens in a 6-1 game, but they have to know not to start anything.

Lightly shoving a player who has the puck is now considered starting something? Please. If anything the Ducks started it. Sore losers.

Yeah I actually just watched again and you're right...Doesn't excuse Patrick Roy from acting like a complete a$$hat though.

Roy is cuckoo.  If this were the playoffs where the intensity is even higher, then he may have been justified to be ticked off about such an incident ( remember Burns/Melrose).

Roy needs to tame his anger management problems.

Didn't take long for Patrick Roy to lose it behind the bench.

MacKinnon looked great in his first game, he's going to be a special player.

Agreed. MacKinnon looks like the best draft pick since Tavares.

I watched a lot of that game after the Leafs one ended and the ending was pretty funny. Getzlaf fighting Downie, and then Roy going at it with Perry and Boudreau... it might have seemed childish but I'm glad the Avs are making a name for themselves again.

Exactly... Here goes Boudreau again.... and now teaching players to speak to the oppositions Coaches?? wow!

Canucks/Sharks was close until the last 5 min of the third..i feel for luongo he played great but no goal support ...i wonder if the fans will realize that or if they'll get on him early..i guess thankfully they're on the road

Anyone else see the Coaches Corner opening on Tuesday where they showed Crosby and McKinnon hitting water bottles? They cant be real can it? They both take turns. McKinnon starts off and hits all three. For the third on he breaks the water bottle. Crosby misses one then hits three in a row and for his third one, not only break the water bottle with the puck but also break the glass behind the net. Unbelievable!

A couple of interesting things there. Phaneuf again takes the most overrated player, Alex Steen the most underrated and Matt Cooke the dirtiest but beyond that almost 40% of the players said they either would or maybe would play in the KHL, adding an expansion team beats not adding one 56.7%-30%, Seattle has the most support for the location of that expansion team and, perhaps most interestingly, 88% said yes to "Should Olympic Athletes show support for gay rights while in Sochi?".
