Is it just me or does Rasmus strike out a lot?

Like, a LOT.

50% of his at-bats.

I was thinking it last night then he did it again there in the 9th.

That's crazy high, surely?

I'm sure it'll come down.  His SO% is about double his career average.  Baseball-reference says his career avg SO% is 23.6%, and MLB average is 18.7%.

Another ugly loss. This Jays team isn't quite matching the hype yet (allowing for the injuries even).

And the Yankees, with way more injuries of their own (again) are grinding out wins. Jays have to come up with some better efforts, plain and simple. It's not like they have Overbay, Wells, Nix, Francisco, Nunez etc. in their starting lineup.

Colby strikes out a lot, like 2nd most in the majors a lot (26 after today's game).

Who is first? Glad you asked! It is his buddy JP Arencibia has 27 after today's game to lead MLB.

Lawrie had three more today and is up to 9 already. This is a bad trend having three of your youngest guys all racking up the Ks this quickly - no wonder they can't score runs.

Have to remember it's basically his spring training right now, though.

Haha I made a joke tweet about cancelling mlb.tv and got this:

The Jays suck so much MLB are giving refunds  ;D

Jays salvage a win against the Yanks. This week isn't any easier - 3 in Baltimore and 4 in New York.

I hope they can win at least 4 of those to start climbing back toward .500.

Another day, another loss, this time to the O's. :(

Loup has lost two games now where he came in during the late innings of a tie game. Oops.

They need the next two from the O's. They can't keep losing like this, especially with their spate of games against the East the next little while.

Shame to waste such a good start from your #5 pitcher. 4 hits, what an embarrassment.

Anyway the offense should be in for a boost, Jays claimed Aaron Laffey off of waivers  :-X

You know Laffey is a pitcher, right?

Yep, that was the joke. He's flat out awful.

Teams continue to get ridiculous hits against the Jays, bloop singles, hitting pitches way out of the zone through a hole.  Can't wait until this evens out for the Jays.

After the ball that ump called earlier in that inning that Matusz thought was a strike, he calls that a strike during Cabrera's at-bat? Brutal.

Was that the one that ended the game? If so that was indeed a brutal call. I also hate that pitch tracker thing Sportsnet has permanently stuck to the screen. It's distracting and looks to be quite inaccurate, imo.
