2013 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

I wonder why he took Loup out - I do seem to recall he has been the "beneficiary" of some untimely errors, and hasn't done so well trying to recover.

And Delabar throw some gas on the fire. Three run double, 7-6 Boston, that's probably another loss coming up, another win for Lester, who certainly didn't have his best stuff. This team is terrible, always seeming to find ways to lose.

Yay! The bullpen blew another lead!

I wouldn't put that on the bullpen, they induced a double-play ball that should've ended the inning.

Well, not entirely on them, sure, but, they have to be able to recover from situations like that if the team is going to be successful. It was a full team fail, but, you know, the bullpen has not been good this season.

I don't know, their bullpen has pitched more innings than only Houston's, and coming into this game the bullpen's ERA was 12th out of 30 teams.  Doesn't seem like it's been that bad, but overworked.

Delabar certainly didn't pitch well at first - a walk to load the bases then went out to a 3-0 count on Ortiz. Situational suckitude. :)

Gibby can't seem to make the right moves tonight. Takes out Bonafacio for defensive reasons, infield combines to make an error that costs 3 runs. Bring in Lind to pinch hit, he strikes out. Things were so promising with that 6-3 lead...

So Buchholz has gone six innings of one hit ball, while Buehrle gave up three home runs in six innings of work. Jays down 4-0, but if they are lucky, Clay will be out after 7 innings - provided they actually make him work a little bit instead of striking out.

Not so fast on that win streak. Buehrle left with two outs in the 7th after giving up a walk. Rogers came in and gave up a single, a walk and a three run homer and now at 8-0, the game is over.

How Happ got through 3 2/3 innings giving up only 2 runs after 3 hits and 7 walks is a mystery to me. Jays still trail, of course.

Edit: Adam Lind up to his old tricks again, striking out with the bases loaded and two outs. Jays turned away in the 7th.

Looks like Ricky's first start of the year was a failure. Blew through the first three innings, then a HBP, home run, single and three walks. He managed to get through the inning with only 3 runs being scored, but was yanked to start the 5th. It sounded like his confidence issues had returned as he kept burying his changeup in the dirt. Did they bring him up too soon? Is he done as not only a Blue Jay but as a major league pitcher? All this and more, in the ongoing saga of the Blue Jays! I swear can anything else possibly go wrong for this team?

He looked like he had some kind of issue with his finger, was probably affecting his pitches.  I wouldn't really call it a failure.
