Dubas didn't get the "solid colour" shirt memo at the draft. Must be why he's on the outs

Where does he get the nerve to wear glasses on his face?
Come on, you gotta know he is Clark Kent

That's why he has 3 people between him and Lou.  Lou is going to force Dubas to shave off his glasses.

EOY cap space: $0

Players earning bonuses: 5

Current space: $8,68M (after overage)

Need to sign: Dream 1RHD, Brown, Hyman, 4C, NewBackup, Sparks, Holl

We can apply LTIR of Horton and Lupul at the beginning of next season for 10.55M of space, if we're up tight against the cap prior, but if we use LTIR, we take another overage hit next year when Nylander's millions kick in (and more space clears up).

Remaining Dream 1RHD targets:
Shattenkirk: 7+M
Faulk: 4.83M
Demers: 4.5M
Tanev: 4.45M
Miller: 1M

Brown and Hyman collectively will likely be ~ 5M
Backup ~ 1M
4C: ~ 1-2M
Sparks + Holl ~ 1.4M (no Cap impact while on Marlies)

Note: Rosen and Borgman both have full bonus potential. Kapanen and Dermott have no performance bonuses available to them, even though they're still on ELCs, thanks to slides.

Updated and a question:

Backup ~ 1M = McBackup at .850m
4C: ~ 1-2M = Moore at 1m
Sparks + Holl ~ 1.4M (no Cap impact while on Marlies)

Do either Brown or Hyman have arbitration rights? If not, why wouldn't they be nearer the $4m mark?

They all came in lower -- yay!

They currently have no rights and the team can treat them like trash.
I think it'll cost them something because Babcock keeps pumping their tires, and their agents' gotta be like, yo bro, you can't undercut the coach with a chintzy deal for a gudpro. Who will listen to him in the future if all that hard work just means getting less than Matt Martin? Or something like that.

Martin scored one more goal than shorthanded-Hyman.

Maybe.

And maybe Lou comes back with you 2 gudpros can split $4m, here's a handful of TTC tokens, and Babs will continue whispering sweet nothings in your ears. Also, you're both getting traded when we can replace you with Grundstrom and Kapanen/Bracco. Trash.

What's the point of keeping this fossil around if you don't get good deals? What's the point of having these good Toronna boys if they won't play for the merch?

I'm guessing Brown gets 4M on a long term deal....probably more.  I would prefer a bridge deal myself just to make sure

Stemming from the Passing Project data and the playstyles the data has been grouped into:

Legend for each column: from here
Dark Blue is best; Dark Red is no bueno.

Build Up Index: Secondary and tertiary shot assists (passes eventually leading to shot attempts)
Dangerous Shot Contributions: Passes from below the end line or across the slot (Royal Road)
Influence: Total shot contributions
Total Passing
Primary Shot Assists: Passes leading directly to shots
Shot Volume
Transition Play: Zone entries and entry assists

Connor Brown may not want to show this chart in arbitration.

To the point that I'm semi wondering if the data was mislabeled, because that looks more like Matt Martin than Connor Brown who actually passes the puck sometimes (according to the same passing data visualized in other forms).

I'd be glad to hear that was the case, herman.  As soon as I saw Brown's colour codings, I really didn't give it much credence.

I don't have twitter (je refuse!), but some kind soul has already brought this conundrum up with Sean. He hasn't responded yet, but I'll keep an eye out. Could just be a case of mis-reading a 12 as 15, or and pointing it to the wrong slot.

It's definitely Brown. And I'm not sure anybody should be THAT surprised that he's labelled as a "Dependent" in terms of his contribution to the teams offence. He's not somebody who can create offence on his own. It's amazing Matthews did as well as he did on a line with both him and Hyman.

And that's not a shot at Brown, I think he's an effective player. But he's not a 20-goal scorer on his own. Not to push the Hyman talk over to this thread too much, but both him and Brown are exactly the types of players you end up having to replace with cheaper options down the line once cap space needs to be created. And you can probably do so without really losing much actual on-ice value.
