2016 Summer Housekeeping Thread

Confirmed Qualified:
Garrett Sparks
Martin Marincin
Peter Holland
Frank Corrado
Connor Carrick

Non-Tendered: (To UFA)

Unconfirmed:
Stuart Percy
Joshua Leivo
Sam Carrick
Colin Smith

To be clear, at this point we know nothing about Percy, Leivo, S. Carrick, and C. Smith. They could have been qualified. They could have not been qualified.

One down:

Told that Stuart Percy did not receive a qualifying offer from the #leafs. The former first-round pick is now eligible to become a UFA.

No surprise, he was basically just constantly getting passed over by other defencemen coming into the organization.

edit: Johnston says ditto for Sam Carrick. Leivo and Colin Smith are now the only question marks.

Little disappointing, as he showed some promise at one point, but, yeah, not a surprise. His development basically stalled.

And then got overtaken. I always thought he'd be better in the NHL than the AHL because his teammates would be able to keep up with his thinking. Sadly, Percy's physical skills couldn't keep up with the NHL.

I still Loov Dermott and Nielsen's potential though, so I'll Percy my lips and kiss him goodbye and wish him well.  :-*

That always sounded to me like something broadcasters just said to explain that one decent stretch he had with the Leafs. When in reality he was just playing over his head.

Perhaps that was the case. He was quite steady on the Marlies, where the rest of their backend was largely comprised of one-dimensional players, but that's not a high hurdle.

RIP 2010 and 2011 Draft classes. Sparks appears to be the remaining piece, pending confirmation of Leivo and Carrick's cuts.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty happy we didn't draft Cowen in 2009.  :)

If had of, that would mean Kadri would be a Senaturd!
