Told that Stuart Percy did not receive a qualifying offer from the #leafs. The former first-round pick is now eligible to become a UFA.

Little disappointing, as he showed some promise at one point, but, yeah, not a surprise. His development basically stalled.

That always sounded to me like something broadcasters just said to explain that one decent stretch he had with the Leafs. When in reality he was just playing over his head.

Perhaps that was the case. He was quite steady on the Marlies, where the rest of their backend was largely comprised of one-dimensional players, but that's not a high hurdle.
RIP 2010 and 2011 Draft classes. Sparks appears to be the remaining piece, pending confirmation of Leivo and Carrick's cuts.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty happy we didn't draft Cowen in 2009.
