2016 World Series: Chicago Cubs vs Cleveland Indians

No.92 said:
I hope our time is next.  Although, you have to feel bad for the Indians too not having won since 1948 which is much worse than the Leafs

Eh, after knocking the Blue Jays out and wearing a ridiculously racist caricature on their uniforms...you don't have to feel too bad for them.

So this year in sports:

- One of the greatest QBs ever wins a Super Bowl in his last ever game

- Lebron James puts on the greatest one man show in Basketball history(highlighted by maybe best defensive play ever), takes his team back from 3-1 down against best regular season team in history and wins Cleveland's first Championship in 50+ years

- Leiceister City wins Premier League against 5000-1 odds

- Cubs rally from 3-1 down to win one of the craziest game 7's in history and erase 108 year deficit

- Phil Kessel wins a Stanley Cup

Also, Iceland knocked England out of the Euros, John Scott was the All-Star Game MVP, Villanova won the NCAAs on a buzzer beating 3...

Well, what can we say...Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs, the 2016 World Series Champions!!!  108 years of frustration has ended, the' curse' has been listed, and oh yeah, somewhere out there Steve Bartman must be smiling....

Too bad for Cleveland.  They could have had the series all but wrapped up, when destiny came calling in the form of Ben Zobrist, the hero in Game 7 with a double at the plate, scoring the go-ahead run for the Cubs in the top of the 10th inning.  Zobrist's hit broke a tie game and eventually the hearts of Cleveland fans.  The Indians had their chance in the bottom of the 10th, but it wasn't to be.

Wow, what a nailbiter of a game & innings it was!

108 years,  108 years, eh!?  Party on, Cubs fans!  And enjoy victory, at long last!

Back to the Future was just one year off. Except it was Cleveland, not Miami.
