2025 Blue Jays

Kind of feels like the Canadian way to play and win as a team, not just a few individuals carrying the load. I appreciate the small ball, which makes it so much more watchable. Every player has been asked to contribute in their own way.

Jays have falled 1.5 games back of the Tigers for 1st in the American League but still hold a 4.0 game lead on the Astros for a first round bye.

They have a 5.0 game lead on the Red Sox and a 5.5 game lead on the Yankees.

Still sitting really good, but going 3-3 against the Pirates and Marlins just isn't a good result.

3 against the Twins (Home) and then the rest of the schedule sucks.

Brewers (x3), @Reds (x3), @Yankees (x3), Astros (x3), Orioles (x3), @Rays (x4), @Royals (x3), Red Sox (x3), Rays (x3)

Would have liked to see them do better with their softer August schedule than 12-9 but its still doing enough to be somewhat comfortable.

Who are the candidates? How about Manoah? I still think you let Hoffman try to find it for a little while longer.

Manoah's had some control issues in his rehab starts, though they are improving. I wouldn't count on him being much more than an inning eater if he makes it back to the show this season.

I'd say Varland, but he's had some issues of his own since the trade. I think going to a closer by committee approach might be the way forward for now. Maybe Domiguez - he had one bad outing since joining the Jays that skew his numbers some, but, outside of that, he's been really solid.

Yea, Varland has the makeup but he's been scuffling alot. It looks like the Jays are doing some tweaking with his pitch selection, etc, so I wonder if that's causing some issues.

Domiquez has been really good and I thought he was going to come in for the 9th last night, considering he only threw 5 or 6 pitches in the 8th..But alas..
