4 Nashville Predators vs 5 Detroit Redwings

A tough, nasty game with some injuries (Deteoit's Helm) and some hits from behind (Weber on Zetterberg).  In the end, Nashvile prevailed winning Game 1, 3-2.

GASP!  What blasphemy is this?

It's the Red Brigade. Annually-since the last playoff appearance by the Leafs anyway- ( this picture was taken in 2009 because global warming has no effect in my house and the population of polar bears has increased steadily), the Game Day Bears ditch the blue and white and cheer for my son's favourite team.

If I had the time and energy, I'd make them all Bruins sweaters since that would be THEIR logical favourite.

He did, and I'm still overreacting about it.  I guess giving it to Dean Brown just made too much sense.

I hate Dean Brown..... and I'm guessing anyone who is not a Senators fan would agree with me....  8)

Having Cole and Healey call the Senators series would be like having Dean Brown call a Leafs series.

Whether you like him or not, Dean Brown can follow a hockey game, and knows who plays for each team.

CBC are huge, unabashed homers, except when it comes to Ottawa apparently.  You have the guy that calls Sens games on the payroll.  Not using him is just stupid.

Man, he can't even pretend to claim that was accidental. Lucky to not get suspended. That was some WWE skills on display there.

Dirty enough to get under Detroit's skin, not dirty enough to get suspended.  That's a perfect play in the playoffs, the kind of thing Chris Pronger and Claude Lemieux built their careers on.

I'm sure I'd be singing a different song if that was Staal on Spezza, but I'm fine with it.

Darren Helm to undergo surgery to repair tendon damage. He's done for the playoffs.

To smash someone's head deliberately against the glass is not something  I would do.  Lost a little respect for Weber there, and Gaustad (tapping Datsyuk behind his knees).

At least, Weber gets fined.  Message there. Shanahan has put Weber "on notice"...

You know, I never thought I'd say this about Nashville but...that's a really good playoff crowd.

everytime I turn on this series my first thought is "dear goodness those are some uuuuugly jerseys!"

the worst in hockey...one of the worst in pro sports. (talking the yellow nashville jerseys)
