I mentioned that one to my wife.  I think that is the one that threw me the most.  I never even considered it could be a joke.

I almost think it is funny now but the years of therapy since that tramatic day have been expensive.  >:(
 
It freaked me out for about 2 seconds when I first saw it late last night, but then I quickly remembered it was April 1st today!
 
Yup. You had me until I actually read what was there. We've all had our hearts broken by Leafs too many times for me to believe you'd give up on them like that. :P
 
I have never really posted much but I have been on this site since 2006 and it is a valued part of my surfing. When I got home from work this morning and saw the notice it was as if I witnessed my cat of 12 years being run over by a steamroller. I sat in front of my laptop with my bottom lip quivering for about 5 minutes.

I knew it was a joke, but i did think for a moment "what would I do if the site actually went down for good?"

hate to burst your bubble, dude, but we moderators have no banning privileges. We can make suggestions about necessary administrative interventions, but outright banning is in the hands of RickJayDarrylRob. You'd be able to edit/delete all Nik's posts, but you can't ban him.

No kidding! I'm still waiting for the big firewall to come and at that point, I'm going to have to start, you know, socializing with my colleagues. I really don't want to expedite that. * shudders *  :)
