Maybe a bit over the top but is it possible for a fan base to sue a team? We were promised after Ballard passed that things would be different but they haven't, maybe it's time.
This forum had the lawsuit conversation a couple of years ago. You can't sue the team. They haven't done anything dishonest, as they cannot guarantee wins.
As long as fans are invested, they will keep trying what they are doing. They'll march someone competent out in front of the media, they'll outline their plan on how they are going to make the team competitive. They'll give us a rough timeline, and then they'll get to work. Then they'll make some trades, sign some players, hire/fire a coach, and continue to pay lip service to the fan base about how they are doing everything in their power to put this team in a position to win.
What that competent person doesn't realize, is that the moment they are hired, they are a part of the Rogers corporation, and as such, they are now subject to the Rogers culture. Whatever plans they had, they'll only be able to complete between 50% - 75% of that because somewhere in the chain, someone in the Rogers culture will get in the way. It won't matter how hard they fight, the culture will win, because ultimately the culture is ingrained and the person that has been hired is expendable. So they either get on board, or they go somewhere else.
If fans are angry it means they are invested. If fans are happy it means they are invested. Only when the fan base starts showing apathy, will they sense that they have a problem, because that is when the fanbase is no longer invested, which means, they no longer have a hand in our pocket.
