3-0 lead in the first...gotta get at least a point out of that. What else is there to say. Bring on the hildebeast.
There are no safe leads in the NHL. Bonehead move by Brodie gave them life. Refs made sure the Avs got the chances Jones let's in a softy for the winner. Let's see what they do tomorrow

Another single PP game for the Leafs. Hard to win when the refs miss the calls that should help you and see the ones that hurt you.

The refs tilted the game for sure, and on a night when we gave the puck out like a door prize way too often = disaster.

By my count, that?s the 7th time this season the Leafs had one or fewer PPs. I think I counted 3 times it happened to their opponents. That feels unusually out of balance.

If they get a few of the calls they deserved, maybe they play a more confident game. By the end, it felt like they were playing scared to be too aggressive. That leads to mistakes, giveaways, etc.  They didn?t play well, but they also weren?t helped by uneven officiating.

I mean when penalties are called matters too.

The Leafs were up 3-0.  Matthews gets hooked and there is no call.  A minute later Colorado gets a PP.  then it's a delayed 5 on 3.  Colorado got a goal and the had a strong powerplay.  If the refs did their job neither of those two plays happen and maybe the momentum doesn't shift aggressively toward the Avs.

Maybe the Leafs find a way to lose anyway but it's frustrating when the refs call an unbalanced game.

We get stuck with a back to back now while also playing 3 games in four nights.  Tough ask but the media will certainly run with the three game losing streak headlines if they do

I agreed with a lot of what Keefe said.
The score in the 1st was not representative of the play.
It went downhill from there.

Keefe said Matthews was not crosschecked - he fell into the boards and hurt himself but said he was ok to play after.
EDIT:
Keefe said the ref told him that.
My stream wasn't working at the time.

The ref BS'd Keefe.
END EDIT

Keefe said he couldn't think of one good shift by the Tavares line so he pulled Nylander out of there hoping best on best would slow Colorado's best down. Keefe felt only one line had a decent first period. He was critical of the PK "we stopped playing"

Keefe would not say who is starting tomorrow.

That, too. I hate complaining about the refs, but they?ve been getting worse and worse, and were especially bad last night. I have a hard time believing any team goes through a game committing less than 3 infractions, never mind only 1 - and the frequency so few calls get made is increasing at an unacceptable rate.
