Bernier Big Picture

Tough to truly judge both imo. The team in front is a mess and even when winning they where defensively chaotic. Reimer has a had a few good games but he has had a bad year. He seems to play well each year when nothing on line. Just an observation

I agree, Reimer seems to play much better when there isvfar less pressure.  He was huge for our Leafs in that infamous Boston series, however, he wilted big time late in game 7.

I disagree with that comment. If Reimer's defensemen could of cleared the puck out of the zone rather then passing it blindly up the middle it would of been fine. Reimer made 10 saves in the last 3 mins of the that game.

And of course Randy made a huge blunder in not calling the time out. In the he could of should of would of made a difference. The boys where realing they needed to settle down and focus and regroup. Randy dropped the ball and did nothing.

I'm not so sure a time out would have helped.

a timeout was definitely needed..it could have changed the outcome just as much as a coaches talk between periods.

Frattin scoring on his ill-fated break away would have done a lot more to secure the game results in the Leafs favour.  With that team, at that time, were not listening much to what Carlyle had to say at any time IMHO.

A timeout would have just delayed the inevitable.  Boston was coming hard, the Leafs were wilting, a brief rah rah from the coaches would not have suddenly made the difference IMHO.

However, we'll never know one way or the other!

We do know the difference one way, we just don't know what would happened if Randy had done the no brainer thing?

Something that could have made a difference in the outcome, other than calling a timeout, might have been if Bozak was healthy and playing in the game.  Just maybe, his defensive zone faceoff abilities could have prevented at least 1 Boston goal.  Pure speculation just like the timeout none call.
