Wow, Kapanen was 20-3 in shot attempts last night, Johnsson 20-4. They were flying. I can't believe that they didn't bury one.

Something fun:

Matthews - Kadri - Hyman
Marleau - Plekanec - Marner
Johnsson - Nylander - Kapanen
JvR - Bozak - Brown

Play to win, not play to not-lose. There's no more runway.

I'd do that but switch Hyman and JvR. Get all your 30 goal scorers on the first line.

So they can all get stuff at once!

I'd maybe mod by swapping Kapanen and Hyman actually, as that top line could use some give and go transition.

Matthews - Kadri - Kapanen
Marleau - Plekanec - Marner
Johnsson - Nylander - Hyman
JvR - Bozak - Brown

Either way, Nylander centring two wingers with a lot of get-up-and-go is problematic for the opposing depth. We haven't seen it yet, but Johnsson has a gun.

This is my favourite part:
*  Evaluate the skill of the players on the rush. If Auston Matthews has the puck on a 2-on-1 break with Matt Martin, you can pretty comfortably get aggressive on him knowing what's most likely to happen. Same if Martin's the puck carrier. Go ahead, Matt, if you can beat us, cool, but Matthews is gonna be wearing me like a backpack.
