The Bruins are just better. They're just as fast, and they're tougher, have better D and better goaltending.

I'm calling another 1st round exit.
They weren't at all better through that whole period.

Bruins 1 - 0 Leafs
Bruins get killed in every metric except have one goal on our third string goalie. But ok.

Metrics don't mean a thing in a 7 game series. And it's too short for things to "even out".
Your example was literally the score right now in this game. But sure, change the goalposts when convenient.

The score is the only thing that matters in the playoffs.
Now we're winning. So are we automatically the better team? Come on man, I know the B's make everyone emotional and maybe they are a better team than us, but let's be real here. They aren't definitively better than the Leafs in the way you described earlier.

Come here buddy, I'll hold you tight

Do we really know how lucky we are to have Matthews, Nylander, Marner, Tavares, Kadri and then have guys like Kapi and Johnsson playing for us?  Five years ago Kapi and Johnsson would have been all we talked about.  We are so blessed for Shanahan and Dubas and some great drafting and some good luck getting Auston.  What really do we have to complain about?  It lights out the best Leaf team in ages.

Don?t forget that non-all-star bum Rielly.

So now the two teams are perfectly even, right?

No...see you and Bender are missing the point. In the world of extremes that we live in now, where there are absolutely no shades of grey left, you seem to think that I'm saying the Leafs can't play with the Bruins, or that because the Bruins = Good, that MUST mean that the Leafs = Bad.

In a period where the Leafs threw the kitchen sink at them and came away down 1-0, I would not say that the Leafs were better than them, and in the context of a playoff series, the only stats that mean a thing are goals for and against.

What I was saying about the Bruins was in no way in the context of this game until Bender decided to move the goalposts, as he put it, and make it about this game. I was simply stating what I've felt about the two teams and how they match up to eachother in a potential playoff series.

He's starting to look like his old self again. Really driving through the neutral zone, lots of puck carrying time, good chances, drew a penalty. Really wish he'd score though.

Also how long has it been since Kadri's scores? He seems to be in a bit of a slump.

He should just stickhandle it into the net.

Crazy that he's hit six posts and three cross bars this season.

Leafs look assertive.
Gauthier doesn?t look like poop.

If he's on in the playoffs his assignment will be to bang bodies.

Nah he should just play his game. On that last OZ shift you could see him being first to two loose pucks because he had a good defensive position to read the play and came in smartly to support the dig.

I might actually tolerate Gauthier if he did that. Guys his size who wouldn't hurt a fly are such a shame.
