Doesn't matter. Treliving won't fire the coach because if he does and they still suck, then it's on him. I guarantee they are using the injuries as an excuse and upper management is just buying it.

I mean I think this whole thing needs to be torn down but at least see if that's the case. Bérubé hockey doesn't make this team look good. Get a new coach and see if it polishes up a turd and you can sell everything at the deadline

If they wait, maybe Treliving can get a 3/4th line center for him ...
If they move him this season, they'd probably get much more - a 1st rounder and a prospect - whatever because he has the balance of this season and a couple more left on his contract. Leafs could retain some $ to improve the return.

No way they actually trade him this year though. It would be a great way to go, but they won't do it. They won't give up. They're like Don Beebe in Superbowl 27.

Now next be year if they aren't in a playoff spot near the trade deadline, then they will be forced to face reality.

They're not this bad. Coach's system doesn't suit the players. Tre made them a slow team with the players brought in and lost.

Disagree. They never quit on Keefe. Babs deserved it and maybe Berube does as well.

Yeah. They'll try a new coach before they tear it down for sure.

And they did what with Keefe? For a team that's done nothing it's a bad look. The players should be traded before being given what they want if they want a coaching change.

Leafs were a very good team with Keefe. Didn't have playoff success but regular season, probably the best ever. The team never looked this bad with Keefe, never. Keefe gets the boot after taking Boston to game 7 where Nylander missed 3 games and Matthews missed 2 and Woll got hurt going into game 7. He should have never been fired but Tre wanted him gone, obviously.

You're not trading the whole team. Hire DeBoer or let Lalonde take over and see what a new voice can do. Nothing to lose.

Whether they "quit" or not, this group has had the same issues for the past 10 years - not starting games on time, sleepwalking through whole periods or games, coming up short in big games. Is there any coach on the planet who can overcome those issues? Stapling "snot" or truculence or whatever to the core group obviously doesn't work.
